Spok Messenger Ports: Ascom

The Ascom Port allows integration with Ascom systems. 

  1. Choose Interfaces > Ports. The Ports dialog displays.
  2. Click the New button to create a new port on the server.
  3. Enter the fields as described in the table below:

    Name

    In the Name field, enter a name to describe the port. For example: Ascom.

    Protocol

    From the Protocol list box, choose the Ascom option. The dialog is updated to show the fields that are required by this port.

    Type

    Choose TCP/IP in the dropdown.

    IP Bandwidth Choose Local Area Network in the dropdown.
    IP Address Enter the IP Address of the Ascom system.
    TCP Port The default port '1322' is entered automatically. Change this value if your Ascom system uses a different port for connections.
    Send Buffer Size The Send Buffer Size field represents the amount of socket buffer allocated for sending data over the TCP connection. Default values are typically recommended. This field must be a multiple of 4096 bytes. The default is '8192'.
    Recv Buffer Size The Recv Buffer Size field represents the amount of socket buffer allocated for sending data over the TCP connection. Default values are typically recommended. This field must be a multiple of 4096 bytes. The default is '8192'.
  4. Click Save to commit the new settings to the server. The new port configuration is saved.

  5. When the Ascom Port is configured, you need to configure the Ascom Gateway. Refer to Spok Messenger Gateways: Ascom for more information.
