Spok Messenger Ports: Comp1/Comp2

This port allows receipt of information from Comp1/Comp2 protocols.

  1. Choose Interfaces > Ports. The Ports dialog displays.
  2. Click the New button to create a new port on the server. NOTE: When creating a port that has similar properties to an existing one, select the port of similar type before selecting New. Details specific to that port only are required.
  3. Enter the fields as described in the table below:

In the Name field, enter a name to describe the Comp1/Comp2 port.

From the Protocol list box, select the Comp1/Comp2 option. The fields are automatically populated with the entries shown in the graphic.

From the Type list box, choose the RS-232 option. This should be the only option available.

    Serial Port

From the Serial Port list box, select a port that is defined as being AVAILABLE. A port that is already assigned within Spok Messenger is labeled IN USE. A port in use by another application on the server is labeled UNAVAILABLE.

    Flow Control

From the Flow Control list box, select the None option.

  4. Click Save to commit the new settings to the server. The new port configuration is saved.

  5. In order to reduce network traffic, the status of each of the serial ports is not automatically updated. Click Refresh to update the status of each port.

  6. When the Comp1/Comp2 Port is configured, you need to configure the Comp1/Comp2 Gateway. Refer to Comp1/Comp2 Gateways for more information.
