Spok Messenger Gateways: SNPP

SNPP Gateways are either clients or servers.

The SNPP Gateway dialog displays when the Interfaces > SNPP menu option is selected.

Name

The name that appears in the gateway list.

Gateway enabled

Determines whether or not the gateway is functional. It is convenient to disable this setting to temporarily stop messaging out of this device.

Protocol Level

SNPP implementation.

Destination Server

SNPP server to connect to for message delivery.

Max Messages

The maximum number of messages that are allowed in the queue. Please note that the maximum value for this field is 200.

Max. msg. length

The longest text message that can be sent to a device or contact through this gateway. If the gateway receives a longer message, it is truncated to the maximum message length, or split, depending on the split long messages setting described below.

Split long message

Causes messages longer than the maximum message length to be sent as separate sequential messages when enabled.

Allow messages

Configures the gateway to send outgoing messages when set.

Send Via

When DEFAULT MAPPING is selected, incoming IDs are located in the recipient database (in the local ID field) and messages forwarded as defined by those recipients. When another gateway is selected here, messages are forwarded directly to that gateway using the incoming ID as the target address.

Accept messages

Configures the gateway to accept incoming messages when set.

Use this SNPP server gateway when Login or Coverage not received

When set, an SNPP client that connects with this server and does not specify a logging or coverage area uses the setting of this SNPP server. Only one server can be the default server.

Login ID

Configures the SNPP client logging details. If a password is required, separate with a space.
