Message Status Window in Spok Messenger

The Spok Messenger Message Status window provides details of messages generated and sent from the local Spok Messenger client.

Selecting a message within this window followed by an option below provides further diagnosis and manipulation of sent messages. Only one message may be selected at a time. This window can be resized to full screen. The lower part of the Message Status screen shows further details about the highlighted message. For example, for escalations, this section displays details about each escalation step in real time.

The message status can be viewed.

  1. Choose View > Message Status. The Message Status dialog displays.

    Delete

    Deletes the chosen message from the Message Status list.

    Clear

    Clears the messages from the Message Status list.

    Close button

    Closes the current window.

  2. To view message status information for a specific user, choose that user from the Filter by Message Source drop down. When an individual is chosen from this drop down, the messages that were sent by that specific individual or user display. If you would like to view the messages for all available users, choose All from the Filter by Message Source drop down.
  3. The following message statuses can display in the Message Status dialog:
  • ACCEPTED: A message is classified as Accepted if the system has confirmed that it can successfully send the message to the message receiver’s device.
  • QUEUED: A message is classified as Queued if the message is currently in the queue and is waiting to be sent to the message receiver’s device.
  • ENROUTE: A message is classified as Enroute if the message is currently traveling to the message receiver’s device.
  • DELIVERED: The message is classified as Delivered if the message has successfully reached the message receiver’s device, but the receiver has not yet chosen a response option.  
  • ACKNKOWLEDGED: The message is classified as Acknowledged if the message receiver viewed and acknowledged the message on his or her device.
  • REPLY: The message is classified as Reply if the message receiver replied to the message that he or she received.
  • COMPLETED: The message is classified as Completed if the message was successfully sent to the message receiver.
  • DISPATCHED: The message is classified as Dispatched if the message has been dispatched to the gateway for delivery.
  • ESCALATED: The message is classified as Escalated if the message has been delivered and the receiver has chosen to escalate the message or the auto timer has routed the message to the next contact in the list.
  • READ: The message is classified as Read if the message has been received and viewed by the receiver, but the receiver has not responded to the message.
  • FAILED: The message is classified as Failed if the message was not successfully sent to the message receiver.
  • NOT SENT: The message is classified as Not Sent if the attempt to send the message was unsuccessful.
