Screen Pops Not Working Due to Corrupted genbridge.ini File

Overview

In some cases, Spok Console screen pop-ups may fail to function on a specific workstation even though all CTI configurations appear correct. One potential cause is a corrupted or misconfigured genbridge.ini file.

Issue Example:
Screen pops were not appearing on a console despite all known-good settings. CTI services were running and matched the expected configuration.

Resolution/Topic

Replace the genbridge.ini file with a known-good copy from a functioning Spok Console workstation. Steps:

1.        Navigate to the affected workstation.

2.        Rename the existing genbridge.ini file (e.g., genbridge.ini_old) to preserve it. ("C:\Program files (x86)\Amcom\Bin\Genbridge")

3.        Copy the genbridge.ini file from a known-working console.

4.        Paste the known-good file into the appropriate directory (typically where genbridge.exe resides).

5.        Run genbridge.exe as administrator.

6.        Restart the CTI service.

Outcome:
After replacing the file and restarting services, screen pops resumed functioning normally.

Related Notes:

·        Always verify CTI configuration settings match across working and non-working consoles before making file changes.

·        Use SecureLink or another approved method for file transfers if remote access is required.
