Spok Mobile Release Notes 3.4.x

Spok Mobile 3.4.0 Release Notes (Release Date: May 31, 2013)

New Features and Enhancements

Acknowledge/Ignore Button Functionality Improvement

  • After the acknowledge and ignore buttons are now clicked, the buttons that can no longer be clicked become gray, a green check mark displays next to the chosen button, and the message is no longer closed.
  • Delete All Messages Feature
    • A feature that allows users to delete all messages that are currently being stored on the device was added during this release of Mobile Connect.

iPhone-Specific Improvements

  • Call System Configuration
    • Users now have the ability to manually configure the call systems that are used to place calls when the Call Back button is clicked in the Mobile Connect application.
  • Removed Ability to Copy Message Text
    • In order to improve the overall security and confidentiality of the application and the information that is stored on the application, the ability for users to copy and paste message text from a Mobile Connect message was removed. This helps to ensure that text that is managed in the Mobile Connect application remains secure and encrypted in the application.
  • iPhone 5 Resolution Supported
    • During the 3.4 Mobile Connect release, the support for iPhone 5 resolution was added.
  • Connection Test on Application Launch
    • When the Mobile Connect application is opened on iPhone devices, the application automatically runs the Health Check function in the background and notifies the user of any connection issues.

Android-Specific Improvements

  • Connection Test on Application Launch
    • When the Mobile Connect application is opened on Android devices, the application automatically runs the Health Check function in the background and notifies the user of any connection issues.

Encryption of Device Data

Mobile Connect now supports the ability to encrypt all data that is currently being stored on the Mobile Connect application on iPhone and Android devices. This greatly increases the security of the overall application as well as the information that is stored on the application.

Corrected Issues

  • During the 3.4 release, an issue was found. When devices receive updated client preference, the user is moved away from the “Compose” and “Reply” screens. Because of the nature of the issue and the timeline of the release, this issue was not fixed during the 3.4 release. Instead, this issue will be fixed immediately in the 3.5 release of Mobile Connect.
