Spok

ePHI Compliance

In order to comply with ePHI (electronic protected health information) standards, you must run two database scripts before a backup of the database can be provided. Run these scripts after backing up the database, but prior to accessing the database for troubleshooting. These scripts will remove content from the messages stored in the backup database tables, ensuring that the database does not contain message text. This keeps the product in compliance with ePHI (electronic protected health information) standards.

These scripts are:

  • WipeSensitiveData.sql
  • WipeSensitiveDataFromCore.sql

These scripts can be found in the following location: <INSTALL_DIRECTORY>\Spok\Care Connect\Mobile Connect Services\Database.

These scripts must only be executed on the backup of the database. When executed, they remove content from the messages in the database tables without affecting the remaining data in those tables.
