Overview
Recommended Android WiFi settings to prevent connectivity issues
The following setting is recommended to avoid connectivity issues in Spok Go. It allows your device to automatically move from a WiFi to a cellular connection when it encounters connectivity issues on an active WiFi network.
Note: The implementation of this feature varies from one Android version or provider to another. The examples below are for Google & Samsung devices.
Follow the steps below to enable "Switch to mobile data automatically" on Google Pixel devices
- Open the device settings
- Click on "Network & Internet"
- Click on "Wi-Fi" and scroll to the bottom of the menu and click "Wi-Fi preferences"
- Toggle on the "Switch to mobile data automatically" setting
Samsung
Follow the steps below to enable "Switch to mobile data" on a Samsung device
- Open the device settings
- Click on "Connections"
- Click on "Wi-Fi"
- Click the vertical ellipsis in the upper right hand corner and then the "Advanced" menu item
- Toggle on the "Switch to mobile data" setting
