Managing Your Preferences

Setting Your Availability Status

  1. Click on your profile icon CC_Profile_icon.PNG. The settings menu is displayed.
  2. Click on your current availability status. The availability status drop-down menu is displayed.  See Availability Status Definitions for more information
  3. Choose the desired status.

Availability Status Definitions

The list below defines the availability statuses you can choose from.

Available

You are currently signed into Spok Go and can receive messages and alerts.

 

Do Not Disturb

You have set your availability status to Do Not Disturb.

Activities with a priority level of "Critical" will always override your mute settings.


 
Unavailable You are unavailable and will not receive notifications on any device, including pagers, regardless of priority level.
  • All push notifications are suppressed.
  • Any Workflows that you are part of will skip over you and escalate alert notifications to the next staff member in the Workflow.
  • You will not be able to choose the Unavailable status if you are currently on an active on-call shift, opted into a care team role, assigned to a current staff assignment.
  • Your availability status is updated to Available automatically at the start of the next on-call shift or staff assignment.

Configuring Auto Forwarding

While enabled, Auto Forwarding forwards all activities sent to your Spok Go account to a Spok Go user that you designate.

Viewing Your Current Auto Forwarding Configuration

  1. Click on your profile icon CC_Profile_icon.PNG. The settings menu is displayed.
  2. Click Auto Forwarding. The Auto Forwarding screen is displayed.

Enabling Auto Forwarding

  1. While viewing the Auto Forwarding screen, click + Auto Forwarding. The Setup Forwarding screen is displayed.
  2. Click the Forward To drop-down menu and start typing the name of the person who will receive your forwarded activities.
  3. Choose the name of the Spok Go user from the list.
  4. In the Schedule section, choose and configure the desired scheduling option. If you choose the Indefinitely option, Auto Forwarding will have to be manually stopped. See Manually Stopping Auto Forwarding.
  5. (Optional) Click in the Additional Notes field to enter a message that will be sent to the person you've designated to receive your forwarded activities.
  6. Click Begin Forwarding. You will receive a message in your Spok Go inbox confirming that you have enabled auto forwarding, and your availability status will now indicate that you are forwarding your activities. For example, if you are available, your status will change from Available to Available - Forwarding.

Editing Auto Forwarding Settings

  1. Click on your profile icon CC_Profile_icon.PNG. The settings menu is displayed.
  2. Click Auto Forwarding. The Auto Forwarding screen is displayed.
  3. Click Edit. The Update Forwarding screen is displayed.
  4. Make the required changes to the forwarding schedule.
  5. Click Update.

Manually Stopping Auto Forwarding

  1. Click on your profile icon CC_Profile_icon.PNG. The settings menu is displayed.
  2. Click Auto Forwarding. The Auto Forwarding screen is displayed.
  3. Click End Forwarding.

Managing Communication Notes

Communication notes allow you to specify how others should contact you. Your communication notes will appear in your contact card, in Spok Go global search results, and in the Members pane of a message thread.

Adding Communication Notes

  1. Click on your profile icon CC_Profile_icon.PNG. The settings menu is displayed.
  2. Click Communication Notes. The Communication Notes page is displayed.
  3. Click in the Communication Notes field and enter your communication notes.
  4. Click Save.

Editing Communication Notes

  1. Click on your profile icon CC_Profile_icon.PNG. The settings menu is displayed.
  2. Click Communication Notes. The Communication Notes page is displayed.
  3. Click in the Communication Notes field and update your communication notes.
  4. Click Save.

Deleting Communication Notes

  1. Click on your profile icon CC_Profile_icon.PNG. The settings menu is displayed.
  2. Click Communication Notes. The Communication Notes page is displayed.
  3. Click in the Communication Notes field and delete your communication notes.
  4. Click Save.

Managing Communication Preferences

Communication Preferences lets you configure how and when Spok Go will route activities to a supplemental personal pager.

These settings can only be applied to a personal pager that is used in addition to another managed pager or a shared smart device, and these settings are not available if your personal pager is your only device.

If you have silenced a conversation in Spok Go, you will not receive no further pages generated by that conversation.

Viewing Your Communication Preferences

  1. Click on your profile icon CC_Profile_icon.PNG. The settings menu is displayed.
  2. Click Communication Preferences. The Communication Preferences page is displayed.

Setting Communication Preferences Status for a Device

While viewing your Communications Preferences, click the toggle next to the device name to enable or disable the settings for the device.

Configuring Activity Routing by Type

  1. While viewing the Communication Preferences screen, click Activity Types next to the the device to be configured. The Activity Types window is displayed.
  2. Click on an activity type to toggle the routing settings for the activity type.
  3. Click Save.

Configuring Activity Routing by Priority Level

The Critical priority cannot be disabled. All Critical priority activities will be sent to this device, unless Quiet Hours are currently in effect. See Configuring Quiet Hours.

  1. While viewing the Communication Preferences screen, click Priority Levels next to the device to be configured. The Priority Levels window is displayed.
  2. Click on each activity priority level that you want to be sent to this device.
  3. Click Save.

Configuring Quiet Hours

No activity will be sent to the personal pager when Quiet Hours are in effect.

  1. Locate the Schedule section and click + Quiet Hours. The Quiet Hours window is displayed.
  2. Configure the dates and times that Quiet Hours will be in effect.
  3. (Optional) Add an additional set of Quiet Hours, and configure the dates and times that they will be in effect. Repeat this until all desired sets of Quiet Hours have been created.
  4. Click Save.

Managing Quiet Hours Sets

Your sets of Quiet Hours can be enabled and disabled.

While viewing your Quiet Hours configuration, click the switch next to a set to change its current status.

Editing Quiet Hours Sets

  1. While viewing your Quiet Hours configuration, click CC_kebab_icon.png next to the set to be edited and choose Edit from the action menu.
  2. Make the desired changes to the quiet hours set.
  3. Click Save.

Deleting Quiet Hours Sets

  1. While viewing your Quiet Hours configuration, click CC_kebab_icon.png next to the set to be edited and choose Delete from the action menu.
  2. Click Save.

Managing Notifications

Use your browser's settings to manage Spok Go notifications when using Spok Go for the web. 

Reminder Notifications 

Reminder Notifications are push notifications configured by your organization's system administrator to send repeating reminders to you when there are unread chat or notification activities in your inbox.

Chats are messages you receive from another Spok Go user. Notifications are messages you receive from an external system.

Managing Mute Override for a Mobile Device

Your device's Mute Override settings can be enabled and disabled from the settings menu.

See Managing Your Preferences (iOS) or Managing Your Preferences (Android) for information about configuring Mute Override on your device.

  1. Click on your profile icon CC_Profile_icon.PNG. The settings menu is displayed.
  2. Locate the Mobile Mute Override menu item in the list. This menu item will be displayed as either Enable Mobile Mute Override or Disable Mobile Mute Override, depending on your current settings.
  3. Click on the Mobile Mute Override menu item to change the device setting.

Choosing a Language

By default, Spok Go uses the language that your device is configured to use, however Spok Go Language Settings allow you to choose any language that your organization has made available.

  1. Click on your profile icon CC_Profile_icon.PNG. The settings menu is displayed.
  2. Click My Profile.
  3. In the My Settings menu, click Language Settings. The Language Settings screen is displayed.
  4. Click on the drop-down menu and choose the desired language from the list.
  5. Click Save.
