Using Staff Assignment

Before You Begin

Before a location or ⚒ bed can be used in Staff Assignment, the location types must first be associated with the Staff Assignment unit and Staff Assignment Bed entity types. See Enabling Locations in Staff Assignment for more information.

Viewing a Unit's Staff Assignment

  1. Click CC_Main_Menu.png.
  2. Click Staff Assignment. The Staff Assignment page is displayed.
  3. Click on the location drop-down menu and navigate to the desired unit in the Locations hierarchy.
  4. The current shift for the unit displayed by default.
  5. Click < and > to toggle between the Current Shift and the Next Shift views.

Saving Frequently Used Unit Locations

Unit location can be saved to make it faster and easier to get to frequently used staff assignments.

  1. While viewing a unit's Staff Assignment, hover the mouse over the location name. A star icon is displayed next to the location name.
  2. Click the star icon. The star is filled in, and the location is saved.

Navigating to a Frequently Used Unit Locations

  1. Click on the location drop-down menu. Saved Units are listed at the top of the Location Hierarchy.
  2. Click on the Unit location name. The Staff Assignment for that unit is displayed.

Managing Staff Members

Adding Staff Members to a Unit

  1. While viewing a unit's Staff Assignment, click + next to Staff. A search field is displayed.
  2. Start typing the name of the staff member to be added to the unit. A list of matches is displayed as you type.
  3. Choose the staff member's name from the list. The staff member's name is added to the staff member list.

Removing Staff Members from a Unit

Removing a staff member from a unit's staff assignment will not remove the staff member from any current shifts they have been assigned to. They need to be manually removed from shift assignments. See Removing a Staff Member from a Shift Assignment for more information.

  1. While viewing a unit's Staff Assignment page, hover over the staff member to be removed. kebab is displayed.
  2. Click kebab. The action menu is displayed.
  3. Click Remove. The staff member is removed from the unit's staff list.

Managing Shift Assignments

Adding Staff Members to a Shift

There are two methods of adding a staff member to a shift in Staff Assignment:

Click and Drag

  1. Click and hold on the staff member's name in the Staff list.
  2. Drag the name onto the desired shift and release the mouse button.

Search

  1. Click on the shift and start typing the name of the staff member to be added to the shift. A list of matches is displayed as you type.
  2. Choose the staff member's name from the list. The staff member is added to the shift.

Replacing Staff Members Assigned to a Shift

  1. Click on the shift and start typing the name of the staff member to be added to the shift. A list of matches is displayed as you type.
  2. Choose the staff member's name from the list. The staff member is added to the shift.

Removing a Staff Member from a Shift Assignment

  1. Locate the shift assignment and hover the mouse cursor over the staff member's name. The kebab icon is displayed.
  2. Click kebab. The action menu is displayed.
  3. Click Clear Assignment. The staff member is removed from the shift.

Configuring Roles

  1. While viewing the staff assignment screen for the unit, click Configure Roles. The Configure Roles screen is displayed.
  2. In the Unit Level Role section, click the Unit Role drop-down menu and begin typing the name of the role to be assigned as the Unit-Level Role. Matching roles will be displayed in a list.
  3. Choose the desired role from the list.
  4. In the Bed Level Role, click in the Select Role drop-down menu and start typing the name of the role to be added.
  5. (Optional) Add another bed-level role by clicking + Bed Level Role.
  6. (Optional) A new Select Role drop-down menu is added to the bed-level roles list.
  7. (Optional) Click in the drop-down menu and start typing the name of the role to be added.
  8. Repeat until all bed-level roles have been added.
  9. Click Save.

Changing Staff Assignment Roles

  1. While viewing the Configure Roles in a Staff Assignment, click on the drop-down menu containing the role to be changed and start typing the name of the role to be added. Matching roles will be displayed in a list.
  2. Choose the desired role from the list.
  3. Click Save.

Adding additional Bed-Level Roles

  1. While viewing the Configure Roles screen in a Staff Assignment, click + Bed Level Role. A new Select Role drop-down menu is added to the bed-level roles list.
  2. Click in the drop-down menu and start typing the name of the role to be added.Matching roles will be displayed in a list.
  3. Choose the desired role from the list.
  4. Click Save.

Deleting Bed-Level Roles

  1. While viewing the Configure Roles screen in a Staff Assignment, click the X next to the bed-level role to be removed.
  2. Click Save.

Activating the Next Shift

While viewing the Next Shift screen, click Activate Shift.
