Care Connect Suite Installer Features

In the Care Connect Suite Installer's Custom Setup dialog, you can adjust your view of the list by clicking the plus (+) and minus (-) signs next to the Care Connect components and features. The table below provides descriptions of each available component and feature.

Server

All components included in the Care Connect Suite installer.

Platform

The Platform server resides in the LAN.

Options to control where and which features of Spok’s platform product are installed.

  • Web Site: Directory in which Spok’s platform product website is installed.
  • Web Service: Directory in which Spok’s platform product web services are installed
  • Adapter Service: Directory in which Spok’s platform product adapter service is installed.
  • Deploy Database: Deploys the Master and Core databases for Spok’s platform product.

Mobile

Spok Mobile must be installed on its own server after the Platform product has been installed.

The Spok Mobile server resides in the DMZ.

Options to control where and which features of Spok Mobile are installed.

  • Web Site: Directory in which the Spok Mobile website is installed. This is the mobile web application where users can manage Mobile settings and devices. 

  • Web Services: Directory in which the Spok Mobile web services are installed. The Mobile web services are the backend services that allow Spok Mobile to function correctly (routing messages to and from mobile devices, performing registration duties, etc.) These services are not directly accessible by a user but are key components to Spok Mobile messaging.

  • Windows Services: Directory in which the Spok Mobile Windows services are installed. These services are used for sending messages to devices and receiving replies. For example, the adapter service that Spok Mobile uses to receive a connection from Care Connect is installed as part of the Windows services. 

  • Deploy Database: Directory in which the Spok Mobile database is installed. This database stores information that is required for the Spok Mobile product. 

  • Configure Spok Notification Framework: This option controls whether the Spok Notification Framework is configured and activated. This allows for on-premise notifications for non-GCM devices. This framework requires further configuration. See

Both Mobile: Web Site and Mobile: Web Services should reside on the same IIS Server. 

Web

Installed on the same server as Platform. 

Options to control where and which features of the Care Connect Web product are installed.

  • Web Site: Directory in which the web user interface components for the web application are installed.
  • Web API Service: Directory in which the web API service components related to the web application are installed.
  • Deploy Database: Directory in which the database for the web application is installed.

Device Preferences

Installed on the same server as Platform. 

  • Web Site: Directory in which the web user interface components for the Device Preferences Engine are installed.
  • Deploy Database: Directory in which the database for the Device Preferences Engine is installed. Any information that needs to be added to the Core and/or Meta database is included in this feature.

Speech

Speech must be installed on its own server after the Platform product has been installed.

The Care Connect Speech server resides in the LAN.

Options to control where and which features of the IVR service are installed. 

  • Deploy Database: Determines whether Care Connect Speech deploys necessary changes to a specified SQL database, such as the Platform database.
  • Speech Service: Controls if Care Connect Speech is installed. This dictates where the user interface to the underlying services that need to be installed for the IVR component of the Care Connect Suite are installed. Additionally, this option dictates if the installer should update the required Nuance and FreeSwitch configurations for the IVR component of the Care Connect Suite. When this option is installed, it updates the default configurations for the FreeSwitch and Nuance files in the installation directories with the configurations that are recommended for the solution to work with other Spok products. 

Spok CTI Server

Installed on the same server as Platform. For high availability, these must be installed on both Platform servers and also on the CTI Server.

Options to control where and which features of CTI are installed.  

  • CTI Server Service: Determines if the components and support files for the CTI Server Service are installed.
  • CTI Server Web Manager: Directory in which the components for the web management tool for CTI clustering get installed. 
  • Deploy Database: Deploys a database schema specific to CTI licensing. Only select this on the first server that you install Spok CTI Server on. The other servers should not have this option checked.

Spok Park

Installed on the same server as Platform.

Options to control where and which features of Spok Park are installed.

  • Spok Park Features: Directory in which Spok Park features related to the Spok Park Service are installed.
  • Deploy Database: Directory in which the database for Spok Park is installed.

LogParser

Do not install the LogParser component.
