Integrating HL7 with Spok Go
This contains details for integrating HL7 with Spok Go.
Overview
This article describes the process for integrating HL7 with Spok Go to allow the receiving of orders and results messages and routing these messages and their contents to the appropriate users, roles, and workflows.

Before you Begin
- Ensure you followed the HL7 specifications outlined in the interface specifications documents below:
- Ensure the on-premises gateway is installed and configured. See Installing and Configuring the On-Premises Gateway for more information.
Adding the HL7 Integration to a Gateway

In Spok Go, click Administration > Integration > Gateways.
- Click the Gateway for the HL7 connector and click the Gateway Services tab.

Enable HL7 Inbound by sliding the toggle and click Save.
- If HL7 outbound is needed, enable HL7 Outbound by sliding the toggle and click Save.
- Enter the following:
Host hostname or IP address of the HL7 device that PCD 05 messages will be sent to. Usually it is the device that originates PCD 04 messages. Port Port number used for outbound HL7 connection. Use TLS Enable if TLS is used for the outbound HL7 connection. Include Patient/Visit info in ORA-R41 messages Enable to include patient or visit info in ORA-R41 messages.
The HL7 integration is now enabled on the gateway, and HL7 messages can now be sent to the gateway using the IP address of your load balancer via TCP on port 18001 and/or via TLS on port 18002.
