Integrating Messenger with Spok Go Using WCTP
Limitations
This integration method is subject to the limitations below:
-
A WCTP device must be created for every Spok Go messagable entity (ex: users, roles or groups) that needs to receive WCTP messages
Before You Begin...
-
Ensure Spok Messenger 5.17 or higher is installed.
-
Ensure you have a license to use WCTP.
Step 1: Get the Spok ID of the Spok Go User
This step captures the Spok ID of the user for whom notifications will be sent from Spok Messenger.
-
In Spok Go, click the Administration icon .
-
Click the user account. An edit screen is displayed.
-
Click the Access and Identity tab.
-
Copy the Spok System ID.
Step 2: Configure Spok Messenger to Send WCTP Messages to Spok Go
- Create a new WCTP gateway to send notifications to Spok Go. See Spok Messenger Gateways: WCTP for more information about creating a WCTP gateway.
- Configure the Return Address. This is usually a combination of the Messenger server's name and the domain of the certificate that is installed on the server.
Example: MessengerServerName.CertName.com
Also ensure that "Return Address" is selected for the Sender ID Format.
- Create and configure a new WCTP device. See Creating and Managing Devices in Spok Messenger > Configuring WCTP Devices. The address of the device must include the user's Spok ID and be entered in this format:
User_SpokID
Example addres:
User_7cc0c112-8eca-4e7e-bb01-e79b3665aae7
Note that other Spok Go entities that can be messaged via WCTP include Care Team Roles (ex: “Role_role ID”), and Message Groups (ex: “Group_group ID”).
Step 3: Configure the On-Premises Gateway to Receive WCTP Messages
See Integrating Spok Messenger with Spok Go.
