SQL Insufficient Memory Error
Customers running SQL 2012 - SP1 may get insufficient memory errors.
This is a known memory leak issue with Service Pack 1. This will continue to occur unless the SQL service pack is updated - recommend Service Pack 3.
Temporary Resolution: Restart server
To check the SQL Service Pack:
Open SQL Server Management Studio
Create a new query
Query: SELECT @@VERSION
Execute the Query
Note: you may need to restart the server to clear the memory error before you can log into SQL Server Management Studio to check the version.
Some symptoms may include:
- Cannot access EADM, receive "No process is on the other end of the pipe" error.
- Cannot log into SQL Server Management studio.
- Cannot restart SQL Services
- Receiving "named pipe" error
