Enabling/DisablingTLS

Overview

Typically this request is entered with support because  TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1 need to be disabled due to vulnerabiity issues.  TLS 1.2 can be enabled but the ODBC driver  on the database server and all client machines will  likely need to beupdated.

PLEASE NOTE -  If the ODBC driver needs to be changed, this requires Professional Services (PSG) assistance. Please contact Spok support and request a Professional Services Request(PSR) form.

Resolution/Topic

Check the matrix at System Requirements, Installation, and Driver Files - ODBC Driver for SQL Server | Microsoft Learn to determine the correct ODBC driver for TLS 1.2 and the operating systems of the servers and clients.

Contact Spok support to see if the ODBC driver and OS are compatible with the Medicall version.

If you desire to make this change without assistance from Spok's PSG team,  we recommend enabling TLS 1.2 first on all servers/clients . Then  change the ODBC driver on all servers/clients.  Once this is done,  TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1 can be disabled.

Spok support can  walk you through doing this on one workstation/server.

Please note - if you do decide to make the above changes without Spok's assistance and there are issues, Spok support will request that you roll back the changes that were made and the Spok PSG team will need to assist.  It may take up to 2 weeks to assign a resource as PSG resources may already be engaged.
