PROCEDURE FOR SHUTTING DOWN SPOK SYSTEM
**MUST CALL SPOK FIRST**
Please follow these steps in the order listed:- Disregard any of the listed Servers which you do not have at your site.
Introduction
This document is intended to serve as a guide for rebooting servers containing Spok applications.

The steps listed below are intended for sites that have a Page Server, and plan to have paging available via Fail Safe as an option during the reboot process.

The AlwaysUp application is located in the C:\Program Files (x86)\AlwaysUp folder.
Shutdown Order
Operator and Admin Workstations

Exit MediCall on all workstations
-
Open MediCall and log in to Failsafe mode
-
If Failsafe is not an option, shutdown the workstation.
WebExchange Servers
There are no applications to close as the Spok products are running as services. Shutdown each Webxchange server.
ADT Server
Stop all applications running under Always Up
(Below are some examples of Apps that may be running in Always Up)

TEST PATIENT ADT WITHIN ALWAYS UP

PATIENT ADT WITHIN ALWAYS UP

Spok Scheduler WITHIN ALWAYS UP
-
Spok Statistic Server WITHIN ALWAYS UP
-
Close XnBackup (Running on the desktop)
After all applications are closed you may shutdown the server.
Page Server #1

Stop the Page to Email application within AlwaysUp
-
Stop the Page Server application within AlwaysUp
-
Reboot the server
Open PageSrv-Failsafe, InetPage Failsafe, and PageToEmail Failsafe
Page Server #2
DO NOT SHUTDOWN THIS SERVER UNTIL PAGE SERVER #1 HAS BEEN REBOOTED. This server will be active for the Fail-Safe operators that are logged in

Stop the INET application within AlwaysUp

Stop the Page to Email application within AlwaysUp
-
Stop the Page Server application within AlwaysUp
-
Shutdown the server
Open PageSrv-Failsafe, InetPage Failsafe, and PageToEmail Failsafe
Replication Server
-
There are no applications to close as the Spok products are running as services.

Shutdown
Messenger Server(If installed at site)
-
Stop Spok messenger services in Services.msc
Primary File Share Server
- Ensure this is the last server to be shutdown
Startup Order
(Applications and machine should be running under the Session 0 account)
Primary File Share Server

server should ALWAYS be started first
Messenger Server (If installed at site)

Startup server. Messenger services should start automatically
Page Server #2
